The CCC Arts Night from which C5 emerged several years ago did lots of events over the years from its inception in 2012, starting with some ad hoc performances with just one or two or three or four performers. And various people who are mentioned elsewhere on the website in dispatches, but aren’t in the seminal C5 lineup of Jo, Andrea, Rich, Rog, Ad, and Dave.
In 2017, with C5 well established as a standalone band and having a few pub gigs and a couple of festivals under our belts, we (Dave) began to organise some fundraisers for the CCC. We’ve have had good-sized audiences for those over the years. I think we peaked at 170 paying guests at one of them, which is pretty much full capacity for the venue. Covid sadly put paid our planned March 2020 event and subsequent ones until summer (Fen Edge Festival) and autumn (the deferred Equinox V) 2022.
Totting up the surplus raised from the “Equinox” events headlined by C5 and with various other performers, Gemma, Emma, Patrick, Simon, Mythopoeic, Influx of Insanity, Daphne & Clarissa, Babs & Brad, and with a fantastic £868.53 raised om Saturday night (nominally Equinox VI), it takes our fundraising to just over 4000, for those events!
So, well done to everyone who helped make them all such a success and thanks for coming along to support us and have a bop and a beer. There might be photos later…
