The rest of the band, and perhaps future audiences, will be pleased to hear I’ve resurrected my old Ovation bowl-back electro-acoustic, not so much as a spare guitar but as one that will allow me to give the Taylor a rest every few songs, and avoid those darned string breaks that have plagued the last couple of gigs.
I got this guitar for my 40th birthday, so it’s getting on a bit. It has an incredible sound, but I was convinced the electrics had died last time I did any plugged-in recording with it about four years ago, so never thought of it as a second stage guitar until the pressing matter of breaking strings hit me at our last party gig. So, here it is, ready and willing.
If I remember rightly, and by the sound of it, I recorded my song A Flight of Fancy with this guitar.
UPDATE: I used this live as a backup guitar and it failed miserably in terms of sound quality through the desk and in that it constantly went out of tune. So…
