Birthday bash in Coton

This weekend, we had an early-ish evening slot at a mini-festival birthday bash west of Cambridge. The sublime Harri Beasley (singer-guitarist) was on early doors, followed by a “surprise” acoustic set from Leanne and Phil, then C5 for a couple of hours of funking harmonies, and the evening rounded off with classic rock from Set in Stone.

Great atmosphere, and great fun, and as ever we had a blast! Thanks for having us K!

If Rich wasn’t quite cranked up to 11, he was definitely a 10! Ad could hear the band for the first time, which is astonishing after almost a decade of our performing together. There was some great inflatable sax soloing from the guests on our rendition of Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street. And it was wonderful/odd to see one of the northern guests dropping down to do the splits on the dancefloor in the middle of our version of Stealer’s Wheel’s Stuck in the Middle With You. Torture you? Or, maybe it was Murder.

We finished off with our arrangement of Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now, as a musical gift to the birthday girl. Seemed to go down well with the multitude of Queen fans at the party, which was a relief. There was a big cheese.
